Use a soft and dry cloth to dust the surface regularly. Avoid harsh chemicals and keep the urn away from direct sunlight or extreme humidity to preserve its finish. Also consider that over time, wood naturally darkens.
You can use wood wax for maintenance once a year.
The main raw material we use is solid wood. The lid is made of wood and has a cork seal. The amount of glue we use is much less than 1% of the entire piece. And to guarantee a natural product, we use a finish based on beeswax and natural oils like tung, we do not use lacquers or resins. The interior of the urn has no finish applied.
We also use, in some of our models, small magnets. We recommend no to bury this type of urn.
We use a wooden threaded closure system located on a flat area at the base of the urn, the lid is opened and closed with a wooden key that we provide, made of a hard wood different to the urn.
The diameter of the opening differs within each model. The largest opening is 3.25” (8.25cm).
Some of our small models have a two-lid closure system with magnets.
We only buy wood from suppliers that comply with the legal regulations for the commercialization of wood in our country, including forest plantations in Nicaragua.
As part of our commitment to promote the protection of the wood resource, we are members of The Generation Forest, a German cooperative whose main mission is to "transport the idea of environmentally sustainable forestry to the world", here we share their link:

Receiving your loved one's ashes (cremated remains) is a deeply personal moment, and the process is typically handled with care and respect by the funeral home or crematory.
Here's what you can expect:
1. Container: Your loved one’s ashes are usually placed in a plastic bag, sealed with a twist tie or zip tie, and then placed inside a sturdy plastic or cardboard container. This container is meant for safe keeping and transport, rather than display.
2. Identification: A cremation certificate is included, often with a metal ID tag inside the bag.
2. Pick-Up or Delivery: Ashes can be picked up in person or shipped, depending on local laws. Shipping usually includes tracking and requires a signature. Because each country has its own rules, we recommend checking with your local funeral provider or postal service to understand what’s possible.
3. If You Have an Urn: If you arranged for an urn ahead of time, the funeral home or crematory may place the ashes into it for you. If not, the ashes will be provided in the temporary container, and you or someone you trust can transfer them into your chosen urn whenever you feel ready.
Before Receiving the Ashes, you can always ask the funeral home whether they can place the ashes directly into your selected urn.
We can engrave a custom text on the urn. The engraving is discretely located on the lid at the bottom of the urn, the amount of text that can be place depends on the size of the lid, which varies within each model. Reference image.
You can burry the model that has no magnets on it. Consider that it will naturally decompose over time, especially in direct soil contact. It is suitable for green burials or if you want a natural return to the earth. Germany Friedwald website.
Our urns are made of solid wood, with a natural wax an oil finish, and are designed to be kept indoors.
With good care wood is hard enough to last forever, yet in contact with elements of nature, it will eventually lose its color and can even crack.
To place the urn in a columbarium you have to check the niche size and policy.
Columbariums (above-ground niches) often accept wooden urns, as long as it fits the niche dimensions (height and depth).
Some columbariums require urns to be non-biodegradable, so always confirm with the facility.
Yes, you can travel with an urn worldwide, but there are important rules and documentation requirements you’ll need to follow, which vary by country, airline, and method of travel.
